RAIN, RAIN, RAIN... We are being soaked with rain here in Tegucigalpa. We are feeling the effects of Hurricane Adrian as it makes its way through El Salvador and Honduras. The eye will stay north of us so the worst we will get is the rain and it may be a little windy. Honduras really needs the water so that is a good thing, but I am sure there will be a few problems associated with it. Spent the day yesterday up at Tim Hines' repairing leaks in their roof. Sort of a mixed result occured...we fixed the ones we knew of and as the rain continued we found others. So far I haven't had any problems at the Mi Esperanza house where Lori and I stay but if the rain keeps up I'm sure I will. I'm thinking about all the families up in the mountains who live in cardboard box homes or who have multiple holes in their tin roofs. Weather like this would just add to an already difficult living situation.
This is a TORCH house
Here is an example of the steep mountain terrain. I am sure that there have already been mudslides and who knows what else occuring in various places. I am glad that we build a pretty solid house that have proven to weather some pretty difficult situations in the past. Hopefully they are providing good shelter for the families living in them. The rain is supposed to remain steady throughout the day. I'm reminded of one of my favorite songs. It is by Third Day and it is called When The Rain Comes.
Matthew 28:19-20......"Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 20Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I'll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age." (The Message)
It gives me great comfort to believe that in spite of everything and anything Jesus is with me as I journey through this life towards the next!

When the rain comes it seems that everyone has gone away
When the night falls you wonder if you shouldn't find some place
To run and hide, escape the pain
But hiding's such a lonely thing to do
I can't stop the rain from falling down on you again
I can't stop the rain, but I will hold you 'til it goes away
When the rain comes you blame it on the things that you have done
When the storm fades you know that rain must fall on everyone
So rest awhile, it'll be alright.
No one loves youlike I do
I can't stop the rain from falling down on you again
I can't stop the rain, but I will hold you 'til it goes away
When the rain comes I will hold you!
