If it wasn't so sad, it would be comical...
Today, here in Tegucigalpa, the offices of El Heraldo (the country's leading newspaper) were attacked just before dawn with 4-5 molotav cocktails. There is no report of any real damage. They just kind of exploded like big fireworks. Fortunately there was nobody hurt. Here's the comical part.... the authorities are assuming it was done by pro-Zelaya sympathizers and the pro-Zelaya crowd are saying it was the authorities that did it so they can blame it on the pro-Zelaya crowd. Amazing! Each side blaming the other.
This is not the first time this has happened here. I remember a time a few years ago when the same offices had this happen before. None of this is anything new for this country. It is just exacerbated by the circumstance. I can only imagine what it would be like in the US if somebody forcibly removed our president and sent him to exile, legally or not. I am sure the outrage would be present there also, just like it is here. I am also pretty sure that the authorities would do what they could to keep the civil disobedience under control. Seriously... remember the 60's & 70's? Birmingham, AL? Kent St.? Peaceful demonstrations ending in chaos? This is democracy in action. Sometimes, the rights to free speech and expression lead to bad acts by some idiots that can't figure out the limits.
Aye, Dios mio! Please find a solution!
Grace & peace.
