"I gave up all that inferior stuff so I could know Christ personally, experience his resurrection power, be a partner in his suffering, and go all the way with him to death itself." ~Philippians 3:10

A huge CONGRATS!!! to my daughter Ryan for completing her graduate coursework at Nova University. She will graduate in June with a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am extremely proud of her. Somehow, the grace of God has blessed me with two unbelievably wonderful kids. I wish I could take credit for their accomplishments, but they have done it in spite of me. Good thing they had God and the greatest Mom there ever was. Way to go Ryan!

Also, Lori and I were able to attend the graduation party of a friend this last weekend. A mother of three who took 18 years to get through college. All of us who have children know what a great accomplishment this is and the effort it took to get it done. Way to go Tracey!

....... the emerging conversation is demonstrating an ability to stand up and engage in a powerless, space creating discourse that opens up thinking and offers hints rather than orders. In short the emerging community must endeavour to be a question rather than an answer and an aroma rather than food. It must seek to offer an approach that enables the people of God to become the parable, aroma and salt of God in the world, helping to form a space where God can give of God. For too long the church has been seen as an oasis in the desert - offering water to the thirsty. In contrast, the emerging community appears more as a desert in the oasis of life offering silence, space and desolation amidst the sickly nourishment of western capitalism. It is here in this desert as we wander together as nomads, that God is to be found. For it is here that we are nourished by our hunger.

This is a quote from a new book that is out (which I have not read) called How (not) to Speak of God by Peter Rollins. The first half is theology and the second half is liturgy and practice. Looks interesting and may be worth a read.

I leave for Honduras in a week. I am extremely anxious about that for some reason. Alot to do and little time to do it maybe? I would appreciate your prayers.
