"I gave up all that inferior stuff so I could know Christ personally, experience his resurrection power, be a partner in his suffering, and go all the way with him to death itself." ~Philippians 3:10

I was driving today and heard a comment on a radio news broadcast that really struck me. I can't remember the exact quote, but it was something like...... the high gas prices are making for some very difficult decisions for families affected by Hurricane Katrina. Parents are having to decide between buying the fuel they need or going out to eat or depriving the kids of a night out to the pizza parlor. Doesn't seem like a very difficult choice to me. Do we really put "going out to eat" up that high on the priority list?

Interesting quote from a 18th century philospher (can't remember the name); "We spend so much time disguising the real us from others that we often have trouble recognizing the real us ourselves."

Here's a new pic of my three week old grandson (the best looking kid ever!). If you look into those eyes, you can hear him thinking, "Where are you, Pops?", (that's me!).
