Finding this interesting. I just ordered the book (The European Dream). I have really been thinking alot about the plight of the poor in the good 'ole US of A. I grew up with an understanding that opportunity is available to all and if anyone just works hard enough they can overcome the obstacles. I still think (at least for now) that this is somewhat true, but maybe not nearly as true as I used to think. At least not for everybody. There are probably some systemic things in our American way of life that make it difficult for the poor to overcome their circumstance. I'm not a real smart guy with some of this and have to depend on the research, thinking, and processing of others to form an opinion.
I'm pretty disappointed that I'm 46 years old, a grandfather, and am still incredibly ignorant about what I am now seeing are incredibly important "kingdom" things.
