"I gave up all that inferior stuff so I could know Christ personally, experience his resurrection power, be a partner in his suffering, and go all the way with him to death itself." ~Philippians 3:10

Don’t try to make a difference - be willing to live in the difference God has made and continues to make.
came across this quote in a blog called inward/outward (a project of the church of the saviour, washington, dc). It is from john westerhoff, an author, educator, priest. just another reading that has struck a cord with me. i have been intently reading about the idea of living in the presence of god. my modernistic upbringing makes all this mystic, postmodern, post-christian, ancient future ideas of living and thinking difficult to figure out (see, there it is... i got to "figure it out").

i long for the "peace of god which transcends understanding" and the ablility to "be content, whatever the circumstances." (phil. 4). i want to just live in his presence and be at rest. for whatever reason that is a fleeting endeavor. anybody else got it figured and can help a brother out?
