Mark 6:4..... Jesus said to them, "Only in his hometown, among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without honor."
i'm going to be a little presumptuous and say that i am feeling this passage today. not that i consider myself a prophet and certainly not on a par with christ, but i am experiencing rejection by some in my family because my mission and message in the kingdom is not quite the same as theirs (at least that is how they see it). i'm thinking that our goals are the same: to be the children of god, and to spread the news of his love, as seen through the gift of jesus, among those we share life with. no matter how i try to communicate that with some in my family, it is not heard. all that is heard is that i have somehow abandoned "the truth" as they understand it and that means i am no longer "in the will of god". please pray that i can let it go as it is just my bruised pride that is causing me the anguish.
