Lori and I just returned from a trip that included 13 states, 11 days, an eclectic (many families and traditions all together)Thanksgiving dinner, a visit to the church where I first discovered God's love, a family squabble, and great visits with family and friends. I had a chance to mountainbike in the snow (more fun than you might think), play football with my nephews, go to a Celtics/Knicks game for $10, and enjoy Cape Cod turnip for the first time. The past 11 days were filled with meeting new people, watching my beloved Buckeyes lose to Michigan, enjoying time with my daughter and son-in-law, seeing a dislocated/seperated shoulder, enjoying the beauty of New England, and spending time with my brother and his family. WOW!
We have been given an incredible gift....LIFE. Every day is another piece of our journey and there are countless things that happen each day that we have a chance to experience. There are good things, bad things, fun things, boring things, enjoyable things, sad things, etc. Through the combination of all these things, everyday, we are being shaped into who we are.
The author of Hebrews wrote, "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector [or finisher] of our faith." (Heb. 12:2). Enjoy the ride! Embrace all of it. I have been transformed by all that happened over the past 11 days. I have no doubt that I will be transformed again today. God is not finished with me yet. I can't wait to see what is in store for me tomorrow!!
