"I gave up all that inferior stuff so I could know Christ personally, experience his resurrection power, be a partner in his suffering, and go all the way with him to death itself." ~Philippians 3:10

its been a busy week here this week. it has been great to be working with nathan reeves and his group. some of you may know a few of them that are here... molly cashio, justin prine, and lauren thornton. they are from birmingham and had been here with us before. god has blessded us with the opportunity to build a couple of homes and we will do another tomorrow.

things with mi esperanza are moving right along. they are applying for a license to do day care in an effort to be able to serve more ladies who may not be able to take advantage of the various classes because they have small children. god just keeps moving through that work.

we went to dinner at the estrada's home last night. those that have been here will fondly remember timoteo (the honduran mcgyver and all around great guy). his wife treated us to a great "southern" meal of fried chicken, potatoe salad, rice, beets, salad, and tortillas. delicious is the only word that comes to mind. we got to hear a little more of the family history. timoteo worked for $3 a day doing construction 18 years ago when he purchased the property his family lives on and built their first home there for 4000 limperas (about $500 back then). Their original home was very similiar to the homes we build now only a little larger. Over time he has slowly built a concrete block home on the same property that ultimately cost around 20000 limps. He and his sons (now 20, 18, 16, 14) did almost all of the work themselves. it is really quite amazing. They now have three apartments that they built above the house that can rent out. it was a great evening of fellowship. they are a great family that has given 100's of hours to help our groups over the years. they all love to be a part of helping those around them and they have done so without ever asking for anything for themselves. working along side them and witnessing their love for their fellow hondurans and their service to god is one of the great blessings of our time here in honduras.
